About Budanla Mountain

Budanla Mountain(布丹拉山)is formerly known as Buzhala Mountains(布喳拉山) with an altitude of 5088 meters. According to legend, Master padmasambhava(莲花生大师)once sent a crow to deliver Buddhist scriptures to Qiongguojie Monastery(琼果杰寺), and the crow opened his mouth to have a rest when he got to a mountain because of he was really tired along the while flight. Then the scriptures scattered all around the floor. In memory of this legend, people call this mountain as Buzhala Mountain. It is said that if you visit the top of the hill, you can immediately read the scriptures that the crow left on the mountain.

The Scenery of Budanla Mountain

The beltway from the foot of Budanla Mountain to the top looks just like a pure white Hada(哈达). At the top of Budanla Mountain, visitors can get a good view of the beautiful valley scenery of southern Tibet. In May and June, the wild flowering rhododendrons and some unique Tibetan flowers such as suluomabu(苏罗玛布)and bangjinmeiduo(邦锦梅朵)are showered with colorful brocade. The hillside is covered with the fuggy haze with the charming scenery at the foot of the mountains and rain which seems like a painting scroll, making people relaxed and happy.

The highway traffic system is perfect; visitors can choose self-driving tour in Lhunze County. Up to 2010, mileage of highway traffic totaled 796.76 kilometers in Lhunze County. There are 121.7 km from Gonggar Airport to Lhunze County and spend tourists 2.5 hours driving. Tourist can also transfer to long-distance bus at Lhoka Passenger Transport Center. It just spends 50 Yuan per person and 3.5 hours.
