Chengdu to Qamdo Flights

Chengdu is the easiest gateway which is always the gateway cities to western China from the history. To enter Tibet, you can choose Chengdu as your first destination in China due to its famous giant panda, Sichuan food, Bashu culture, etc. Qamdo(昌都) is located in the key link of the boundary among Tibet, Sichuan, Qinghai and Yunnan. In ancient time, it is the important stop of Tea Horse Route and famed as the ‘Pearl of Tibet‘ due to its pivot position on Tibetan commerce and trade. 

From Chengdu to Chamdo, there are 4 daily flights operated by Air China, Tibet Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes between the two cities. Chamdo Bangda Airport, a civilian airport, also called Qamdo Bamda Airport, was formerly the highest airport in the world.
