About Chentang Waterfall

Chentang Waterfall(陈塘瀑布)is situated on the slope of the bank of Pengqu River(朋曲河) in the southern foothills of the Himalayas. Due to the development of Mt. Everest, there has been many rivers flowing across the Himalayas with high steep slope, longitudinal slope and abundant rainfalls. And on either side of the river tributaries for incised speed synchronization with the mainstream, which often form hanging valley, when importing main elevation difference of hundred meters,which spilled into the river, forming a beautiful waterfall landscape. A steep canyon was formed near Pengqu River(朋曲河), which the north bank wall is close to the vertical line and stands out.Cliffs originate from waterfall with an altitude of 4500 meters, like a river blowing off. Water flow from the 500 – meter – high at the bottom of the cliff rumble, which almost look like a month cage gauze. In the morning, the clouds and fog filled the cliff with descending of the waterfall from the top of the cliff, which seemed to hang from the stone walls.The waterfall is in the jungle of the valley with tangled cane.

You can choose either self-driving traveling or take public transportation. According to your beginning place, there may be different ways to go to Dinggyê County. There are two main lines available below.

  • Lhasa- Shigatse- Dinggyê County

You can reach Lhasa by air or train. Then take a bus to Dinggyê County.

  • Shigatse- Dinggyê County

You can also take a specific train to Shigatse and take a bus to Dinggyê County.
