Baxoi County, occasionally transliterated from Tibetan as Pashoe County, (Tibetan: དཔའ་ཤོད་རྫོང་ Wylie dpa' shod rdzong; Chinese: 八宿县; Pinyin: Bāsù Xiàn) is a county of the Chamdo Prefecture in the Tibet Autonomous Region, Population 35,273 (1999). It contains the Pomda Monastery.

Attractions of Baxoi County

Ranwu Lake(然乌湖): Ran Wu Lake- a slice of heaven on earth, also know as Ranwok Lake, is found in the village of Ran, in the county of Chamdo, roughly 90km from Town of Baima (white horse). Ran Wu Lake was formed by the blocking of rivers, the main one being Parlongzangbu, by debris from landsides, glaciers, and natural walls. This eventually caused water to pull into this area, creating Ranwu Lake. Ranwu Lake is a long skinny lake; it is 20 km in length and depending on the season only 1-5km in width. It is divided into three sections; lower, middle, and upper.

Pomda Monastery: Village of Pomda, Bamda is a village and monastery in Baxoi County, Tibet. Pomda Monastery is a lamasery in Bomda. It was destroyed in 1959 but rebuilt between 1984 and 1988. The monastery is around 360 years old and is home to 90 monks. The entrance hallway has a number of murals depicting monastic dress codes.

Laigu Glaciers(来古冰川): The Laigu Glacier is the name for a group of glacier in the Rawo , Baxio Town of Qamdo area, Tibet. It is next to the Rawo Lake which is one of the three biggest glacier in the world.

Palong Zangbu River(帕隆藏布江): Originate from Ranwu Lake, Basu County, Basu County 854600, China.

Banda Grassland(邦达草原): Within Basu County, Basu County 854600, China.

Tongka Temple(同卡寺): located in Tongka Town, Basu County 854600, China.

Bagaxue Rock Painting(八嘎学岩画): Ancient Ruins, West of the County, Baxoi County,Qamdo Prefecture, Tibet Tibetan Aut. Region.

Nujiang Mountain(怒江山): Mountains, along Sichuan-Tibet Highway(川藏公路).

Shopping

There are various special local products in Tibet Qamdo Baxoi County, but please remember, bargaining with the vendors is always necessary. It is recommended that you walk clockwise around then to see the vendors. One more tip, you'd better go shopping on this street in the morning or evening for Tibetan people value their first or last customer highly. The tourists to Tibet can taste local wine, food and experience folk customs there.

Transportation
China National Highway 318

Due to convenient transportation, it is easy to take a ride at west Bomizhamu town and at east Baima town in Baxoi. Rawok, situated by National Highway 318, is the starting point of Rawok - Chayu road, 127 km to Bomi and 90km to Baxoi County.

Travel Tips:
1. As well as the Tibet Entry Permit, you also need to apply for Border Permit for traveling as this destination lies near the Chinese territory boundary.
2. Owing to the long distance and circuitous route, it is better to head for the attraction in the early morning.
3.There are inns and restaurant, where you can have a rest and a bite to eat. you can also take a picnic if you like.
4. May and September is the best time of year to visit.
5. As there is a large temperature gap between daytime and night, it is highly recommended to take along one or two pieces of thermal clothing.
