Urumqi to Lhasa Trains

There are no daily direct trains from Urumqi to Lhasa. Taking train there in Tibet is more cost-effective than other vehicles. The trains pass through one railway station — Xining on the way, stopover time is 1 hours and 39 minutes. The whole journey takes about 33 hours 25 minutes from Urumqi to Lhasa. You can choose different classes according to your need, like hard seat, soft seat, soft sleeper or no seat.

Lhasa to Urumqi Trains

There are no daily direct trains from Lhasa to Urumqi. Taking train there in Tibet is more cost-effective than other vehicles. The trains pass through one railway station — Xining on the way, stopover time is 36 minutes. The whole journey takes about 32 hours 35 minutes from Lhasa to Urumqi.

3. Generally, the seats on the train in China have tow types including soft seat and hard seat. Also, there are two kinds of sleeper seats on China’s trains which are hard berth and soft berth. Hard berth are divided into upper berth, middle berth and lower hard sleeper (lower berth is the best); while soft berth are divided into upper berth and lower berth (lower berth is better).
