Zhangmu Town is a customs town and port of entry located in Nyalam County on the Nepal-China border. Zhangmu Town has mild and humid subtropical climate, which is a rarity for Tibet. Much is supposedly owed to nearby mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Visitors come mainly for climbing up the lofty mountain, appreciating the heavenly sights, or pilgrimage at its holiness. However, for the particular location, Zhangmu Town itself can form an interesting array of scenery for the visitors.

Attraction Transportation: 

Zhangmu Town lies in the southern piedmont of the median Himalayas, about 776 km. (482 mi.) away from the capital of Tibet Lhasa. It also borders Nepal to the south; Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge is only 10 more km. Tourists can drive from Tingri County seat to Nyalam County first. Nyalam County is 30 kilometers away from the Zhangmu town which takes 1 hour for driving along the steep road and towering old trees.
