Lhasa, the capital of Southwest China’s Tibet autonomous region, experienced its first snowfall of the winter on Friday, which became a hot topic on social media.

According to the weather report by the Tibet Meteorological Station, a light and moderate snowfall hit some areas in the region, including the cities of Nyingchi, Shigatse, and Lhokha.

Some parts of the region, including the southern sections of the region’s Gyirong and Nyalam counties, and high-altitude mountain areas of Nyingchi city had strong snowfall.

The weather report warned of traffic cautions in the Nyalam section of Highway G318 and on provincial Highway 201.
