Samzhu Gandan Monastery is 500 m away from Sangzhu Village, Ngamring County. It was built by Jiayang Banjuejianzan which was the first head lama in 1090. Then there has seven generation inheritance khenpo. Samzhu Gandan Monastery covers an area of 2416 m². Samzhu Gandan Monastery is Sagya sect(萨迦教派) at first, and the fifth head lama changed it to Gelug Sect. Nowadays, there lives 23 monks.

Gedan Zhuopeilin Monastery is is 500 m away from Sangzhu Village, Ngamring County, Shigatse. Visitors can take long-distance bus or choose self-driving from Ngamring County seat. Please pay attention to weather conditions. In the rainy season (July & August), cars often get struck in the mud and delays happen frequently.
